The seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai, with foreign leaders praising China's openness, inclusiveness and responsibility as a major country. They said the CIIE showcases the charm of China's super-large-scale market and creates development opportunities for global companies.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim noted that the CIIE offers a platform for companies worldwide, especially SMEs, to showcase their strengths and attract investment. He stressed that free trade cooperation should promote global progress and sustainable development, not suppress competition. Quoting a Chinese saying, “Those who plant trees will enjoy the shade,” he called for building a community with a shared future for mankind.
As a key window for foreign companies to display new products and technologies in China, this year's CIIE attracted over 3,000 exhibitors. Many brought global debuts, cutting-edge technologies and innovative services. The expo focuses on four major tracks: digital economy, green and low-carbon, life sciences, and manufacturing technology. It has upgraded the innovation incubation zone and set up a new materials zone for the first time. The automobile area presents the possibilities of future travel.
Promoting innovation through opening up, the first six CIIEs showcased nearly 2,500 first-launched products, technologies and services. The seventh CIIE centers on developing new quality productive forces and deepening the integration of technology and the economy, injecting momentum into global sustainable development.
