What are the advantages and disadvantages of choosing a copper die casting machine/lamp die casting machine?

2020-10-14

First, let's talk about the advantages of copper die casting machine/lamp die casting machine:

  1. Metal parts with messy shapes, clear outlines, thin-walled deep cavities can be made. Because molten metal adheres to high fluidity under high pressure and high speed, it is possible to obtain metal parts that are difficult to process by other processing methods.

2, the dimensional accuracy of die castings is high, up to IT11-13, sometimes up to IT9, and the surface roughness can reach Ra0.8~3.2um, and the interchangeability is good.

3. High material utilization rate. Because the precision of die-casting parts is high, they can be installed and used only after a small amount of mechanical processing. Some die-casting parts can be directly installed and used. The material utilization rate is about 60% to 80%, and the blank utilization rate is up to 90%.

  4. High production efficiency. Because of high-speed filling, short filling time, rapid condensation in the metal industry, and fast die-casting cycle speed. Among various casting processes, the die-casting method has the highest yield and is suitable for mass production.

  5. It is convenient to use inserts. It is easy to set a positioning mechanism on the die-casting mold, which is convenient for insert-casting inserts and meets the local special performance requirements of die-casting parts.

Disadvantages of copper die casting machine/lamp die casting machine:

1. Because of high-speed filling and rapid cooling, the gas in the cavity is too late to be discharged, resulting in the presence of pores and oxidized inclusions in the die-casting parts, and then reducing the quality of the die-casting. Due to the expansion of the gas in the pores at high temperatures, the outer surface of the die-casting part will drum Therefore, die castings with pores cannot be heat treated.

2, die-casting machine and die-casting mold are expensive, not suitable for small batch production.

3, the size of die castings is restricted. Due to the constraints of the clamping force of the die casting machine and the size of the mold, large die castings cannot be die cast.

  4. The types of die-casting alloys are restricted. Because die-casting molds are restricted by operating temperature, there are currently zinc alloy die-casting, aluminum die-casting, magnesium alloy die-casting and copper alloy die-casting.
