Anhui Province has officially launched the construction of peak cultivation disciplines, covering 74 disciplines from 28 universities, including 7 disciplines from 4 Bengbu-based universities such as Bengbu University. As the university with the most comprehensive discipline layout in Bengbu, Bengbu University has long been a golden business card for the city.

To further promote the provincial peak cultivation discipline of Electronic Information, strengthen school-enterprise cooperation, serve local industrial development, and explore new models of industry-education integration, Bengbu University and Bengbu Longhua Die Casting Machine Co., Ltd. held a symposium on “Co-construction of Provincial Peak Cultivation Disciplines” on May 17 in the administrative building of Bengbu University. The symposium was chaired by Zhang Ergui, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Bengbu University. Attendees included Chen Guolong, Party Committee member and Secretary of Bengbu University; Huang Yinghui, Dean of the School of Computer Science; Wu Jie, Director of the Scientific Research Department; Li Xianwei, a computer expert with a doctorate from Waseda University; Gui Zuying, Director of Bengbu Municipal Economic and Information Bureau; Han Xiaotong, Section Chief of the Bureau; and Zhou Wenping, General Manager of Longhua.

Secretary Chen Guolong pointed out at the meeting that the Electronic Information discipline of Bengbu University is a provincial peak cultivation discipline and a project construction discipline for the university’s master’s degree program. The discipline has achieved remarkable original results in intelligent sensing, intelligent detection, Internet of Things applications, and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the need to fully leverage the discipline’s strengths in teaching, research, and talent training, anchor discipline construction to local economic development needs, and form complementary advantages between academic resources and enterprise development. Guided by national policies and benchmarking against world-class standards, both sides should stay true to their original aspirations and move forward hand in hand.

The two parties held thorough discussions on the cooperation framework and reached consensus. Under the witness of leaders from the Municipal Economic and Information Bureau, Bengbu University and Longhua signed a cooperation agreement on the joint construction of provincial peak cultivation disciplines. Both sides firmly believe that through joint efforts, the Electronic Information discipline of Bengbu University will become a first-class discipline at home and abroad. Longhua will also cultivate high-end technical talents with university resources, improve product R&D precision, and build itself into a top technology-based manufacturing enterprise.
