Degassing block

Degassing block is a solid refining agent used to remove dissolved gases, especially hydrogen, from molten aluminum. By generating inert gas bubbles during the melting process, it helps reduce porosity, pinholes, and internal casting defects, improving the quality and consistency of aluminum castings.

Working Principle

The degassing block works through chemical reactions that produce inert gas bubbles, such as nitrogen and carbon dioxide. These bubbles rise through the molten metal and adsorb or carry away dissolved hydrogen during their ascent. At the same time, the reaction process helps purify the molten metal, reduce harmful gas content, and improve the compactness of the final casting.
